Problems we solve

When the tools create more work than they remove

Growth often exposes gaps between the software a business has and the way its teams actually need to operate.

01

Too many spreadsheets

Critical records are spread across complex workbooks, conflicting copies and formulas that only one person understands.

Replace a spreadsheet process
02

Repetitive administration

Staff copy information, chase approvals, assemble documents and produce the same reports by hand.

Explore workflow automation
03

Disconnected systems

Useful platforms do not communicate, leaving people to transfer data and reconcile inconsistent records.

Connect existing software
04

Software that does not fit

An off-the-shelf product covers part of the job, but important work still happens through side processes and workarounds.

Consider custom software
05

Poor operational visibility

Managers wait for manually compiled updates instead of seeing current workload, delays and exceptions.

Improve management reporting

What we build

Business software with a clear operational purpose

Focused tools or connected platforms, designed around the people, decisions and information involved in the work.

Why bespoke software?

Custom software should earn its place

Off-the-shelf software is often the right answer. If an established product solves the important parts of the problem well, we will say so.

Bespoke development becomes valuable when SaaS tools demand major workarounds, several systems need to be combined, spreadsheets have become business-critical or repeated administration is limiting the team.

How we work

Understand the workflow before building the software

We work collaboratively, make priorities visible and develop in stages that can be reviewed against real business needs.

  1. 1

    Discovery

Understand the problem, users, constraints and outcome.

  2. 2

    Requirements

Map the workflow, priorities, data and exceptions.

  3. 3

    Design

Shape a clear interface and dependable technical approach.

  4. 4

    Development

Build in visible stages with regular opportunities for feedback.

  5. 5

    Testing

Check real workflows, permissions, integrations and edge cases.

  6. 6

    Launch

Plan migration, hosting and adoption around the live business.

  7. 7

    Support and improvement

Maintain the system and develop it as needs change.

Operational industries

Different sectors, similar process challenges

Omnibyte can support organisations where people, tasks, assets, evidence and customer information need to move through a clear process. The software is shaped around the operation rather than a generic industry template.

After launch

An ongoing technical partnership when you need one

Launch is the point where software starts doing its job. We can remain responsible for its technical health and help it develop as the business changes.

Hosting

Suitable deployment and managed infrastructure for the application.

Monitoring

Visibility of service health and important failures.

Maintenance

Security, dependency and compatibility updates.

Continued development

New features, workflows and integrations as priorities change.

About Omnibyte

A UK software company founded by people who build

Omnibyte Technologies Limited was founded by Nathan Powell and Matthew Gill after collaborating on bespoke tools for online simulation communities that needed better ways to manage their work.

The company was formed in February 2022 and now develops its own software products alongside bespoke systems for clients across operational workflows, healthcare, data and connected services.

Frequently asked questions

Working with Omnibyte

What does bespoke software development mean?

Bespoke software is designed and built for a specific organisation, workflow and group of users. It can be a focused internal tool, a customer portal or a wider operational platform, rather than a standard product sold to many businesses.

How much does custom software cost?

Projects are scoped individually because user numbers, workflows, integrations and assurance requirements vary. Smaller bespoke projects often start from several thousand pounds. We use an initial conversation to recommend a sensible discovery or first phase.

How long does a typical project take?

A focused first version may take a number of weeks. Larger operational systems may take several months and be delivered in phases. We establish priorities and dependencies before providing a delivery plan.

Can you replace an existing spreadsheet or manual process?

Yes. We examine how the process really works, including formulas, exceptions, reports and ownership, before designing structured software. Existing data can usually be assessed, cleaned and migrated.

Can you integrate with our existing systems?

Usually, where the other system offers a suitable API or supported exchange method. We assess data ownership, authentication, limits and failure handling before confirming an integration.

Do you provide hosting and ongoing support?

Yes. Omnibyte can host, monitor and maintain the software, respond to issues and continue developing it as your requirements change.

Can you improve an existing application?

Yes. We can assess an existing application and database, then recommend focused improvements or a managed replacement. Reliable data and minimal operational disruption remain central to the plan.
